Friday Following Fun - #5 + Chasing the Sunset Reminder

First: This is a reminder than my review of Chasing the Sunset by Barbara Mack, received as an e-book by the ladies as Siren's Song Reviews, has just been posted and can be found here: Chasing the Sunset by Barbara Mack

IT'S FRIDAY! And you know what that means! Time for some FRIDAY FOLLOWING FUN!

Every week, parajunkee features a book blog, with some information about the blogger and why they started the blog. Then, everyone who's part of the FF system follows that person. There's also a beautiful linky list below that with links to hundrends (literally) of other book blogs. What a wonderful way to get connected to others who share a passion for books and for blogging!

Our Feature - Angela @ Angela's Anxious Life

Hello fellow bloggers! My name is Angie, 32, from Colorado and I LOVE to read. I just started blogging in the past few months and I love it. I decided to start blogging because I really don't know a lot of people who read so I thought I would blog to find people with my interests. I got tired of talking to people about books who would then look at me with a blank stare! At first I avoided blogging for a long time because I would go online and see all these wonderful blogs and think there was no way I could set up a web-page like the ones I was seeing. Then one night I sat down and looked all over the internet till I figured out how to use blogger. In fact, I received a lot of help from the blogging 101 posts right here at Parajunkee's View! . I recently acquired a Nook Color and am LOVING it. I never thought I would like ebooks at all. I swore that they weren't for me though I never gave them a chance. Then I received the Nook for my birthday as a gift and have never looked back!

I read all different genres of books... but not a lot of non-fiction. I will review YA, Paranormal, Mystery, Horror, Fantasy, really anything that seems interesting. Aside from blogging I moderate two fabulous groups on goodreads.com. One is the YA Book Club which has 3000 members now (http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/3551.YA_Book_Club) and the Stephen King Fans group which has 2000 members now (http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/203.Stephen_King_Fans). I am quite proud of both groups since I have worked so hard on them from the beginning. The groups have grown so much that I recently had to recruit a co-mod for each group to help out! I have discovered so many books through these bookclubs! Some of my favorite authors are Charlaine Harris, Stephen King, George RR Martin, RA Salvatore, Rick Riordan, Janet Evanovich, Cassandra Clare, and JK Rowling just to name a few.

What do I do when I are not reading? Well.... I love to watch TV and Movies, and play video games. I have an Xbox 360, PS3, and a Wii. I even have a hilarious blog for my Xbox 360 where the Xbox is blogging for me
(http://360voice.gamerdna.com/tag/Estel0212) . From time to time on my blog you will find reviews for movies, games and TV. My husband and I head out to the movies every Friday in the summer... and YES we plan to spend two night at the theater waiting for Harry Potter. I will definitely post some pictures from that adventure. I also love to go out on the town... ballet, theater, broadway shows, concerts, I am just about up for anything new and exciting. Plus I love my two kitties and my hubby! Feel free to stop by my blog... I try to keep it entertaining so prepare to have fun!

The Linky List:

Weekly Question (answered by Yours Truly!): What do I do when I are not reading? (am not reading?)

A. Well, to be honest, school work and work. My Extracurriculars include Stage Crew, Mathletes, Masterminds, Students for Life, National Honor Society, the School Newspaper, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. Hobbies include: piano, gardening, opera + musical theater (I sing), writing, knitting, crocheting, and sleeping. I also run a charity that I founded in the Spring of 2009 at my school, and that can take up a bit of time to keep going. I also judge car shows - my class is from 1946 to 1955. So I know a lot about the authenticity and types of cars from that era. My dad is an auto appraiser and we own several antique vehicles (1929 Ford, 1931 Ford, 1950 Ford, 1955 Ford, 1989 Mercury, and a truck. :) We also used to own another 1931 Ford, Abner, but we sold it) so I've grown up immersed in the car culture. I love it.

Other than that my day is filled with working for the family business, tutoring girls from my school in chemistry and other sciences (and the occassional math), and writing papers for school. I'll be taking 6 APs next year (Advanced Placement courses, also known as college-level courses) which has never been done before at my school. I'm very excited, but very nervous. It's going to be a ton of work, and I don't know when I'm going to sleep - much less read. So this blog may lose me for a bit next year, but for breaks in the school year.

Thanks for the views and follows ladies and gents! See ya' next week!

  1. Wow that's a lot of stuff on your plate and congrats on balancing it all! I'm a college student and it is difficult managing school and a blog but I'm sure you'll be able to do it! I'm an old follower hopping through!

  2. You are one busy lady. I couldn't imagine having all that to do. But it must make for a pretty interesting life. Good luck in your AP classes next year! Have a great weekend. Now following.

  3. Jeanette - Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to get to college and actually be able to take classes I care about. I'm so ready to be done with HS, and I'm really glad I've only got one year left. It's a pretty tough balancing act, but I'm interested in so much it's hard to prioritize. Which means I'm swamped, haha.

Jade - Haha, too busy and yet there's always so much time! I think that were I to think about all I do, I'd probably freak out. But when there's a tidal wave of work you don't think you just do. And you simply get swept away on the tide of overwhelming amounts of work - and then, low and behold, it works out in the end!

  4. WOW, you're really busy! I love that you run a charity -- things like that are really important to me. :)

With everything you're doing and how awesomely smart I can tell that you are, I really don't think that you should worry too much about it! You were put in those classes because you're talented -- you'll do great! ;)

Hope you have an awesome weekend!
